Dwayne G. 'Red' Owen
Certified Accident Reconstructionist
As a certified accident reconstructionist, Dwayne Owen reconstructs crashes involving vehicles ranging from tractor-trailers and agricultural equipment to passenger cars, motorcycles and bicycles throughout the United States. Mr. Owen is trained in the extraction of ECM (black box)data and its analysis in forensic use. He is also trained in the operation and maintenance of heavy vehicle air brake systems and components through Bendix. He has been certified as a Crash Data Retrieval System Operator through Vextronix since January, 2004. A retired Deputy Chief of Police with the Freeport, IL Police Department, Mr. Owen has investigated in excess of 6000 motor vehicle accidents.
Mr. Owen co-authored the book, Vehicle Accident Investigation: A Guide for Risk Managers and Claims Personnel and is a contributing author to both Truck Accident Litigation, Second Edition and Third Edition published by the American Bar Association. Mr. Owen has a commercial driver's license, is a board certified forensic examiner, a professional evidence photographer and a former nationally certified Motorcycle RiderCourse Instructor.
